Preparations are in top gear for this year’s City Cultural Week, World Arts Day, and World International Monuments Day, set to commence from April 15th to 18th, 2024.

Representatives from the City Board, the County Department of Culture, and various stakeholders convened to strategize and plan for the upcoming cultural fair. Led by the City Manager, Mr Gitau Thabanja, the committee deliberated on key aspects crucial for the event’s success.

Nakuru’s pride in its cultural diversity stems from its designation as a UNESCO Creative City under the folk and craft category. This recognition serves as a beacon for the city’s and county’s commitment to preserving and promoting its unique heritage.

Mr. Thabanja emphasized Nakuru’s potential as a cultural hub emphasizing the importance of showcasing its diversity to a global audience.

With proper planning and collective efforts, Nakuru is set for a memorable celebration to foster unity, creativity, and appreciation for art and heritage conservation.

Various stakeholders, including representatives from Hyrax Hills Museum, Nakuru Players Theatre, Kabarak University, and the UNESCO Creative City Network, participated in the meeting, highlighting the widespread community support for the event.
